In compliance with AYSO National Rules and Regulations, the Regional Board of Directors of AYSO Region 97 announces the opening of the application period for the position of Regional Commissioner (RC).  A full job description can be found here. The Regional Commissioner position requires a time commitment averaging 10-14 hours per week. Hours can increase depending on seasonal program requirements, meetings and special events. The term of the incoming RC is three years beginning July 2023.

Qualifications to be eligible to nominate yourself or be nominated for this position are that you are preferably a current or past Regional Board member or a registered volunteer in good standing with the organization. The process is to have open nominations and candidates presented to the Nomination Committee (NC). The NC will then vet each of the candidates for eligibility and as a volunteer in AYSO in good standing. At the conclusion of the open nomination time period, the NC will send the candidates' applications to the Regional Board to review. The Area Q Director will then conduct an election. Once the vote is complete and a majority winner determined from the eligible candidates, the Area Director will forward the name to the Section Director, and then to the AYSO National Board of Directors, for approval.
